Fractured Cacti : A triptych

A celebration of color, when I started this series I was looking to highlight bright contrasting colors in a semi-realistic painting. Experimenting with ripped paper and collage techniques, I was looking for new ways to feature high saturation and contrast in these pieces. Framed in shadow boxes, each layer was drawn, cut out, and painted before being reassembled using collage techniques to create dimension.
