Each portrait is hand drawn and painted by me using watercolor, never digital. When your piece is finished, I ship the original painting to you.

Do you work from Photos?

Yes, I work from your reference photos! Email photos to cat@johnstonillustration.com
You can send one clear picture or a few to help me capture your pet’s personality.
For multiple pet portraits, the pets do not need to be in the same photo.

How do I get my portrait?

I offer free shipping within the U.S. and local pickup at my gallery in Savannah, GA. If you need international shipping or expedited options, just let me know and I’ll send a quote.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing depends on the size of the painting and the number of pets included.

Do you paint animals other than dogs and cats?

Yes! I love painting all kinds of animals. horses, birds, reptiles, and more. If they’re loved, I’ll paint them.

Can I request a custom background?

Absolutely! I offer custom backgrounds for an additional cost, including:
• Florals
• Special places
• Favorite toys
• Other meaningful elements
Prices vary depending on the level of detail and will be quoted on a case-by-case basis.

How long will my portrait take?

Turnaround times vary based on current orders. Most portraits are completed within 3 to 8 weeks.
You’ll receive a more accurate timeline when you place your order. I appreciate your patience—it means the world to me as a one-woman studio.

What if pet portraits are sold out in your shop?

Because every portrait is hand-painted with care, I only open a limited number of custom slots at a time.
If the listing says sold out, don’t worry, I’ll open more as soon as I finish a few current orders.
